David Fox was raised in Zimbabwe — or Rhodesia as it was then — where he cultivated a healthy appetite for biltong, Mazoe orange juice and news. After spending more than two decades as a foreign correspondent with Reuters, he left under something of a nuclear cloud and ended up in Bali, where he promptly outdid all his previous exploits by being arrested on drug charges. He is now enjoying liberty as Bureau Chief for Pakistan and Afghanistan for Agence France Press.
